Hospice care is made possible by generous volunteers, who understand the philosophy of hospice care that treats dying as a spiritual and personal event rather than just a physical event. Integrity Home Health & Hospice strives to provide a dignified end of life experience for patients and their families by maintaining patients in their homes safely.  Without volunteers, Integrity's core service of hospice care would not be possible.

At Integrity Home Health & Hospice, we value and utilize the talents of our volunteers who allow an array of services to be offered to those in hospice care. Some of our volunteers are introduced to Integrity Home Health & Hospice by having a loved one pass away while on hospice. They understand the special role that Integrity Home Health & Hospice plays in the medical community and in the lives of our patients and their families. Volunteers assist patients and their families with a variety of tasks, some of which are listed below.

Respite Care

Respite care is provided to our patients under Medicare, but in some circumstances volunteers are utilized to ease the burden of caregivers giving them breaks to go shopping, attend church, or to just get out of the house for a bit. Integrity Home Health & Hospice's respite care alleviates caregivers' emotional trials and provides support.

Support for Patients

The services offered for patients vary widely and usually utilize the volunteer’s talents. Volunteers can do many things for our patients including reading, playing music, taking them for a walk, visiting with them, and anything else that a patient or family may request.

Bereavement Support Programs

Volunteers are often utilized in our bereavement program. Their duties in this program include making scrapbook pages for patients and their families, helping with mailings to clients and their families, helping with support groups and other programs for patients and/or the families of deceased patients.

Training & Orientation

Integrity Hospice has an extensive orientation and training program for our volunteers. This ensures that our volunteers are prepared for working with the terminally ill patient and their families.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer and would like additional information on ways that you can help the senior citizens in your community, please complete our Volunteer Application. We will be in touch with you within 1-2 business days.
